Container yards are dynamic, mostly outdoor environments where a wide variety of material flows converge. Analog, manual processes such as scans, paper lists, or telephone coordination often lead to incorrect and duplicate bookings as well as media breaks between systems. Especially in large indoor and outdoor areas with triple stacks of metal containers, meter-high rows of containers, and dead spots, unclear positions and long search times arise. 

These problems are further intensified by delivery pressure and tight time frames at the ramp, resulting in traffic jams, waiting times, missed deadlines, and unnecessary additional costs. Without reliable real-time data, planning remains uncertain. Processes become inefficient, error-prone, and lack transparency.
